As the name already reveals, Gewürztraminer originated in the Alto Adige winegrowing village of Tramin. Gewürztraminer is the most ancient grape of the Alto Adige region and is one of the most requested white wines of the region. It requires careful vinification in order to preserve its true varietal character and Kettmeir's example is a true representation of this - pale straw-yellow in colour with concentrated, typical aromas of lychee and rose petal. A full, elegant and extremely aromatic white, with a pleasantly acidic aftertaste, best served as an aperitif or with savoury first dishes, shellfish or ethnic dishes.
