Rioja Reserva 75cl (2018) VEGA DEL RAYO

This is a modern Reserva from Artesa's oldest and highest vines. After a long maceration, the wine is aged for 24 months in 60% American and 40% French oak, and then a further 12 months in the bottle prior to release the full character that the grape varieties have to offer. Aromas of plums are backed up by a herbal freshness together with dark berry fruit flavours, orange peel and clove spice notes leading to a savoury and complex palate. The wine has good structure, with supple tannins and a smooth finish - a complete and poised Reserva that is right at home with lamb, roast pork, game, mushroom risotto or meat-baked pasta dishes.
