This distinguished Rassauer Friulano DOC Collio comes from vineyards planted in 2008 in Capriva del Friuli, where the unique Ponca soil, composed of marl and sandstone, enhances its character. The 2022 vintage was shaped by a dry, hot summer that delayed ripening, resulting in a long harvest starting in late August and concluding at the end of September. The grapes underwent fermentation at 15°C in stainless steel, with a portion of the must left in contact with the skins to enhance aromatic extraction, followed by refinement on fine lees until March. The wine exhibits a straw yellow colour with green reflections, offering a complex bouquet of apricot and peach, interwoven with floral and mineral notes. The palate is rich and weighty, with a well-balanced acidity that ensures a lengthy, creamy finish. Best served at 10-12°C, it pairs excellently with Prosciutto Crudo di San Daniele, asparagus dishes, spring herb frittatas, and risottos.
