Vanotu is the Piedmonts’ nickname for Giovanni who was Giorgio’s grandfather and previous owner of the vineyard. Due to the particular climate, wines of great character can still be obtained even in poorer vintages. First bottled in 1960, this wine is aged for 20-22 months in barrique with a further 9 months in the bottle, creating concentration, fruity notes and a soft, tannic complexity. Its colour is an intense ruby, and it expresses fruity notes of raspoberry and cherry and well harmonised with persuasive notes of wood and vanilla. Even through ageing the typical notes are constant along with hints of sage, mint, thyme and camomile: a real trademark of the soil. In the mouth it is velvety, ample and is full of sweet lasting tannins, with great structure and correctly balanced.

Full garnet red colour, closed but powerful, ripe spicy nose, very supple palate with big round tannins and a long finish with vanilla oak tones.
